The College of Agriculture, Parbhani was established in the year 1956 to educate the students, develop agricultural technologies, train and generate agricultural experts and to cater the needs of the farming community. It is one of the oldest colleges in the Maharashtra state. It was started by the Government and was affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. Later the college was transferred to the Marathwada University, Aurangabad and then to Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola till 1972.
After the establishment of the Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani on 18th May,1972, this college became the first constituent college of the University. The College of Agriculture, Parbhani has celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2006. College offers education to Undergraduate, Post graduate and Doctoral level degrees.
Three years degree program was started in 1956 and four-years Degree program in the year 1983. College has implemented new syllabus recommended by 4th Dean’s committee in 2007. In the year 2010, Post Graduate Diploma in Plant Health Management (PGDPHM), a dual degree program was initiated in collaboration with National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Hyderabad. In the year 2017, the college has implemented new syllabus recommended by 5th Dean’s committee. Recently in 2021 the college has completed 65 years of its establishment. As per the recommendations of ICAR – NCG – BSMA, revised and implemented the new syllabus to Masters and Doctoral Program’s from academic year 2022-23.
The alumni of this college are serving in each and every field and at top positions in the state, country and abroad.
